Suffering slow broadband speeds and unreliable internet connections are a thing of the past for The Grainary – a tourism business located in Harwood Dale – near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. A revolutionary change in the company’s ability to reach more customers, to work more efficiently as a business and to provide guests and visitors with high speed internet access to social media, websites and email is proving to be a winner for the customers and staff – all thanks to a local mast owner who has decided to expand his tech business and launch a superfast wireless internet service in hard to reach areas of the Yorkshire countryside.
The Grainary – one of Scarborough’s most beloved tourist destinations includes a farm, country tea room, holiday cottages and a restaurant. The business has been home to the Simpson Family in the heart of Harwood Dale village for generations and after many years of frustrating poor broadband speeds and unreliable connections – they decided enough was enough.
Thanks to Save9 – a North Yorkshire based business that specialises in Cloud Computing, Internet Services and Cyber Security – who invested in a 20 metre tower perched 155 metres above sea level on the famous Oliver’s Mount hilltop – rural businesses in the area can experience next generation broadband for the first time. With support from Scarborough Borough Council and Finance Yorkshire – the firm now uses their Wireless Mast to distribute high-speed fibre internet services offering a more reliable connection to businesses up to 14 miles away.
Steve Bromham, Director of Save9 commented “The Grainary now receives a huge boost in their broadband after we completely replaced their old ADSL broadband technology with a wire-free solution that spans seven miles from our tower through the valley. We managed to keep our customer’s running costs low by deploying radio-links that are Ofcom license-free. Following our speed tests – the business has now increased their connection speeds from a measly average of 0.7 megabits per second to a whopping 25Mbps. Following our success with a number of new wireless customers we’re now planning to launch similar services in and around York, Sheffield and Bradford”.
Mark Simpson, Manager of the Grainary family business commented on their Facebook page – “After years of suffering 1MB speeds, we have finally discovered a company called Save9 – They have managed to increase our internet speeds to 25MB! Our guests and visitors can now access the internet at super-fast speed. We very much recommend that if you’re suffering slow broadband speeds in your home in Scarborough UK that you get in touch with them. Thanks again guys”.
Running a successful tourism business sometimes means working unsociable hours which means favourite TV shows frequently get missed – and most recently the family owners unexpectedly expressed their gratitude to Save9 for personal reasons. Because of a new-found ability to catch up on their favourite TV programmes – the family is now able to stream on-demand TV and internet video services using their new superfast broadband connection, which is something they have never been able to do.
Overall The Grainary now runs a more efficient and happier business with improved customer satisfaction thanks to Save9’s Superfast Wireless Broadband service – impacting the business in a hugely positive way.
